SICILY. Gela. Circa 465-450 BC. Litra (Silver, 12 mm, 0.72 g, 9 h). Horse standing right; above, wreath; to right, crescent. Rev. CEΛA Forepart of the river-god Gelas, in the form of a man-headed bull, to right. HGC 2, 373. Jenkins, Gela, 244ff. Struck on a broad flan. Slightly porous and with some doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
